Edward Taylor studied music at the University of York, was awarded the Mellers Prize in his first year and graduated in 1985 with a BA(Hons) degree. He later gained a PGCE from the College of Ripon and York St John. Edward has been involved with music copyright and classical discography at the MCPS-PRS Alliance in London for much of his working life. He spent a year in the Netherlands working for Buma-Stemra, MCPS's Dutch sister society.

Whilst at CHARM Edward's role as Discography Project Co-ordinator involved editing and collating data for the online discography. Particular listening enthusiasms include the recordings of Furtwängler and Harnoncourt.
